Donald Trump defended Kate Middleton for editing her Mother’s Day photo, saying “everybody doctors”.
The former US president was asked about all the controversy surrounding Kate Middleton and her whereabouts and he said the photo being edited “shouldn’t be a big deal”.
In an interview with Nigel Farage, which aired on GB News on Tuesday night, Trump said: "I looked at that and it was a very minor doctoring, I don't understand."
"It's a rough period, they're really going after her."
It is understood to have been altered three times before it was officially released on by Kensington Palace.
Trump also discussed his relationship with the late Queen Elizabeth II, saying he was unable to get her to say who her favourite Prime Minister or US President was.
He said King Charles is a “really wonderful guy” who he “gets along with” despite the monarch being “more into environmental restriction” than him.
He added: “I’m an environmentalist, I feel in a true sense, but I'm a different kind of environmentalist.
“You know, I want to, I want to get things built, I want to get things done. He was very much into the environment. And he meant it from the heart. I got to know him very well. I like him. And I hope he's going to be okay.”
It comes as The Times revealed what it has reported as the plan for “Kate’s return to public life”.
The newspaper understands that a team is currently working to manage the “messaging” around the Princess of Wales making a “soft return” to work.
She may walk to church on Easter Sunday to join family members for the annual service held at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.
After a break with her children for the school holidays, Kate could make a more full return around mid-April.
Her priority is expected to be her early years project – described by aides as “her life’s work”.
Although her comeback is “something which has focused minds right from the beginning”, according to a royal insider quoted by the outlet, “a sharper focus” is needed amid all the conspiracy theories.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were reportedly seen at a farm shop near their Windsor home over the weekend.
Kate was said to have appeared “happy” and “well” as she and William visited the Windsor Farm Shop, which is situated on the Royal Estate and is around a mile from Adelaide Cottage.
She then spent Sunday morning watching her young children playing sports, according to The Sun.
A shopper who spotted the Princess at the Windsor Farm Shop on Saturday told the newspaper: “After all the rumours that had been going around I was stunned to see them there.
“Kate was out shopping with William and she looked happy and she looked well.
“The kids weren’t with them but it’s such a good sign she was healthy enough to pop down to the shops.”
