Every word Richarlison said on Tottenham offer, why he might cry, trophies and Ancelotti message

New Tottenham signing Richarlison has stated he "couldn't believe it" when the offer from Spurs came in to sign him. Making a huge impact at Everton over the past four seasons, the Brazilian joined the Lilywhites last week in a deal which could eventually cost £60m including add-ons.

Handed the club's famous No.9 shirt, Tottenham fans will get the opportunity to see him play for the first time next week on the summer tour of South Korea. Linked with some of Europe's biggest clubs in recent years, the attacker said he got chills in his stomach once he arrived at his new club.

"I'm very happy for this moment. I remember when I was in Brazil and the offer from Tottenham came I couldn't believe it. And after I signed the contract, even more so because it feels like a dream. When I arrived here it gave me chills in my stomach to see my new teammates and a new home," he said in his first interview as a Tottenham player.

"I hope to make history here in this shirt. And now it's about working with the great coach I have, with my great teammates too and make history in that shirt."

Richarlison will now have a good month to work under Antonio Conte ahead of the new Premier League campaign. Excited to get down to work with the Italian, the player also revealed that he received a message from his former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, who is good friends with the Spurs head coach, following his transfer.

"He's one of the best coaches in the world, isn't he? So it's a privilege to be here, to be coached by him. I believe I will learn a lot working with him," he said on Conte.

"He is very good friends with Carlo Ancelotti, and Carlo congratulated me on the transfer, said Conte is a friend of his, so I have everything to grow here working with him and I hope to contribute to bringing big victories and titles to help him too."

Richarlison will now have the opportunity to play in the Champions League for the first time after the Lilywhites clinched the final top-four spot on the last day of the 2021/22 campaign. The 25-year-old's dream of playing in Europe's premier competition will now come true, with the player claiming he may cry because it is going to be such a special moment for him.

"It's a dream isn't it? I was commenting with my friends that the TV gave us goosebumps just listening to the theme song. So now I can be inside the stadium, listening to that music," he admitted.

"I always said it was my dream to play in the Champions League, and now this dream will come true. Maybe I can cry because it will be a special moment to be there playing in the Champions League which I only watched on TV.

"Until last year I was there on the sofa in my house watching the Champions League, and I said it was time to play there. All the players dream of playing in this great competition, so I think when the time comes I'll be quite emotional because it's a big competition and all the players want to play there."

The club's tour of South Korea will now give the player a great opportunity to get to know all of his new teammates. Already knowing Emerson Royal from international duty, the right-back and Lucas Moura will both play a key role in helping him settle in.

"It is important to have Brazilians who are friends here. I had played with them only in the Brazilian national team, so when I arrived here they came to greet me," explained Tottenham's No.9.

"The clubs I played at also always had one or two Brazilians, so it is also very important for us to feel at home. So I think both of them will help me a lot here in the club, they will help me make new friendships. I think we have everything here to be happy this year."

Tottenham have yet to win a trophy since 2008 but the future does look bright under Conte after a huge transformation in the final few months of last season. Putting together a very good squad, Richarlison feels that Spurs already have "everything to lift a trophy".

"Antonio Conte is putting together a great team to be able to compete in all competitions. I think we'll be very strong in all competitions and we'll fight for titles," said Richarlison

"The coach will prepare us very well for this because there are many competitions and now we have to be focused as much as possible. So I think we have everything to make great competitions, and in the end, we have everything to lift a trophy."
