Every word Fikayo Tomori said on Chelsea anger, Gareth Southgate decision and AC Milan chance

Were you angry after last week’s result?

As a matter of fact I was very angry after the game against Chelsea, so that was my feeling the way I felt. Of course I was happy and it was very good for me to score the goal, but my feeling was still very angry after that performance, and it had to be cancelled out completely. And it was a good way in any case to do it by scoring a goal.

Reflecting on your reaction:

I think for us we knew that it wasn’t us, we didn’t play as we have been playing since I’ve been here. Especially in a tough game at a big stadium in the Champions League, that’s when we want to show it and we didn’t really do it. So it was disappointing for us.
But the good thing was we had another game against Juventus, we had the chance to correct it we, did that with a good performance and a win.

Now we have another chance a week after in front of our fans to put that game against Chelsea to bed and hopefully put in a good performance and get a result.

Game against your old club in your now home stadium extra important?

Yeah a little bit, every game I try to give my best. And last week I know I didn’t do that and that was really disappointing for me.
In football, you rarely get another chance to put it right. but we have as a team, and I have personally, another chance to put that to bed.

And we have a chance to prove that we’re better than that, I have a chance to prove that I’m better than that, and we have, not that we needed any extra motivation, but after last week we have that extra motivation to push us to try to go for the win especially in front of our own fans as well.

Away from Stamford Bridge do Chelsea generate less fear?

I don’t think so in any case when you go on the pitch you always want to win every game we play. We’re very angry but I don’t want to think too much about that game. We have a second chance to win and show what we are. That was not Milan, that was not me but we always have to learn from those experiences. And tomorrow, to our fans, we will show what we can do.

Nesta said after even their win in the title he felt very confident of his skills and his role but then AC Milan bought another good defender Stam. At a big club like Milan that always happens…

Well we are all very proud of playing for such a great club as AC Milan, we know that we always have to raise the bar on the part of each of us to give always our best as individuals and as a group. The purpose is always to win the game and that’s what we want to do and we hope we will continue on this path.

It seems at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea when they scored you didn’t have your usual reaction as you do in the league?

In the league as usual when the opponent scores against us we always do our best to rebalance the situation. But that was not Milan that was not our usual reaction.Every time we concede we do our best to bring things level. But that was not Milan and that was not myself as well.

You haven’t played much for England, neglected by England?

As a matter of fact every match I try to show my best, to perform in my best possible level to show also the England boss that has been watching me that I can do very well.

That’s my purpose always to do my best each game to show that I can do very well. Of course that’s what we have to do, to work hard, do our best and of course I would be delighted to play at the World Cup. But it will be Gareth Southgate’s decision.
