You've had the most incredible of years with Chelsea and the national team. Can you sum it all up, has it been like a dream for you?
"A lot of good things have happened the last weeks. I am very happy and proud of my success with the national team and Chelsea.
"I don't have time to celebrate because we have a lot of big games in the coming weeks, so I am just focused on the next game and I will have time to celebrate at the end of the season."
Is this a season-defining week for Chelsea with the Champions League returning and the Carabao Cup final to come on Sunday, is there a different feel among the players?
"Of course, it's an important week but like I said, when you play for Chelsea you play for this kind of week, with finals and big games.
"We just focus on ourselves and what we have done well this season. We just focus, we don't need to do something new, just stay and rely on our work and our game."
Is Lille an easy draw for Chelsea in the Champions League?
"When it's the Champions League and this stage of the competition, there are no easy draws. Lille won their group and I think that reflects the performances they've produced in this competition against teams like Sevilla and Salzburg. They've been performing well so it's certainly an easy draw.
"Lille are a very good team. They've struggled a bit more this season in the league but it's always difficult to be reigning champions.
"They've done very well in the Champions League and will give everything to make it hard for us and get a result. So it's up to us to be wary of that and play our best football."
Thomas Tuchel has spoken about player fatigue and the amount of football you've had to play, how much personally do you think that has been a factor?
"I think the manager is right about this, we had a lot of games in recent weeks. I wasn’t here but the manager gave some days off to the players to try to escape from the pressure and to be a little bit fresh mentally. He did well and the players did well because if you look at the results."
"We had many injuries and covid cases in the team but we are still winning and performing.
"Of course, it's difficult but it was a tough period for the team to play in several competitions.
"We showed we are together and we stay together even if things are going tough. We are still winning and we are still in many competitions, so at the moment the secret is right."
What's your relationship with Kepa and were you in contact with him during the month you were away at the Africa Cup of Nations?
"My relationship with Kepa is good since I came here. We have a good relationship on and off the pitch.
"He did really well when I was at AFCON but it didn't surprise me because I saw him every day at training. I was super happy for him because he deserves it.
"When you play for Chelsea, you have competition in every position so you have to give your best and play at your highest level to be in the team at the weekend."
Do you feel Chelsea are a better cup team at the moment compared to one that can compete for the Premier League title?
"No, I do not agree with that. I think, as I said, we had many injuries, covid cases and sometimes like you know, we have played some games with maybe seven or eight covid cases and the other teams did not play with two or three covid cases, so it affected our team, it affected our results.
"It is not an excuse, just a fact, and also we had many injuries. We were really good in the league and in the cup but, yes, that’s true, in December our results in the Premier League were not good enough but we were still playing well but did not win a lot of games.
"I think, after the Club World Cup and the Premier League game this week, the things are getting better and better."
Your story is a special one, what is your message to young goalkeepers in the same position you were in?
"Always keep working, have faith in your work, believe in yourself, and when you have an opportunity to show what you can do, to take it and hold onto it.
"Always try to be better and better every day because finding a club is a good start, but to be better and better is the most difficult thing.
"The first competition is against yourself, so you have to be better than yesterday and always ready to improve."
Nine years ago, you were playing for Cherbourg in the French third division and facing N'Golo Kante, have you spoken to him about that journey?
"Yes, we have spoken about it a lot of times. It's good and honestly, it is like a dream to find another player who has been at a similar club from the same division as you.
"Yes, we talk about it and it is beautiful to find him here and now win trophies with him."
