Every streak UGA had snapped in loss to Alabama

The Georgia Bulldogs lost to the Alabama Crimson Tide in a thrilling 41-34 game between two top five teams. Alabama snapped a number of Georgia football’s impressive streaks in the Crimson Tide’s home win.

Georgia’s 42 game regular season winning streak, which started in 2020 is now over. Georgia falls to 49-3 over its last 52 games with all three loses coming to Alabama. The other two times Alabama defeated Georgia came in the 2021 SEC championship and 2023 SEC championship.

The Bulldogs’ SEC record 28 game SEC regular season winning streak is now over.  Georgia entered the Alabama game with a 16 game road winning streak, which was the longest streak in the country.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart lost his first ever game against Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer and is now 1-6 in his career against the Crimson Tide. Smart was asked about his record against Alabama following the game.

“I don’t know, what’s everybody else’s record against them, you know? asked Smart. “Has anybody got one better than one and six, that’s played them six times? I don’t think so. I think they’ve got really good players. They’ve got a great program. I got an immense amount of respect for them. They do a great job.”

Georgia will look to take care of business in its next game against the Auburn Tigers on Oct. 5. Georgia still has a home winning streak dating back to 2019.
