Walk through Headingley on practically any Saturday afternoon throughout the year and you'll spot hundreds of people dressed head-to-toe in fancy dress as they tackle the Otley Run.
Bank holiday weekends are especially popular - particularly throughout the summer - when the Sunday also draws in big crowds of people slowly making their way from pub to pub along the Otley run route.

It's become something of a rite of passage for students arriving in the city, who quickly learn the rights (pace yourself) and wrongs (Arcadia is strictly off limits) from seasoned Leeds drinkers.
Let's face it, you're not truly an adopted Yorkshireman or Leeds lass unless you've completed the champion of all Leeds bar crawls.
So dig out your finest fancy dress, gather your mates together and let's get going. Below you'll fine our Otley run map - and a guide to all of the stops along the way.
1. Woodies
Where it all begins.
From 12pm - 3pm every Saturday the first watering hole is jam-packed with giddy Otley Runners embarking on a long afternoon of drinking still ahead.
And because it's the starting point, the costumes are still very much on point.
The start point has been debated by some, but this is the OG pub to kick things off.
2. The Three Horseshoes
You start off nice and easy with a 20 metre walk to the next stop, The Three Horseshoes.
This place has got everything you need - cheap booze, big screens for the footy and great food to line your stomach for the afternoon ahead (the pizzas are superb if you're really peckish).
3. New Inn
Another short walk down Otley Road is pub number three.
If you manage to snaffle one of the tables out the front then you're in luck. In fact, it might even be worth getting a lottery ticket.
4. The Headingley Taps
Another staple on the pub crawl, and this is where the first signs of drinking begin to show.
No-one's heading home just yet, but be warned - a few people will show signs of slurring even at this early stage.
The Taps is huge, which is helpful, so you should be able to bag a table, or if the weather is good, there are plenty outside too.
5. The Box
We're into the heart of Headingley now - where the drinks start to flow thick and fast.
If you've timed it right for your arrival at The Box, you'll manage to catch Jeff Stelling and co. as the final scores start rolling in at around 4:45pm.

6. Skyrack
It's another short trip over the road for pub number six and Skyrack's a real staple on the Otley Run.
Expect yet more cheap drinks, but be prepared to queue. This is where the pub crawl gets really congested, with the early pace-setters slowing down and the straggling groups catching up with those ahead.
It's an odd-shaped bar too, which doesn't help when you're all trying to get in for drink.
But don't forget to get an obligatory photo infront of the Otley Run sign near the main bar. You've got to think about all the love it'll get from your Instagram fans.
7. The Original Oak
The Original Oak is without doubt the epicentre of the Otley Run.
If you want a snapshot of the wild costumes and endless groups tackling the pub crawl, this is the place to be.
Grab a bite to eat here if you haven't done so already and head outside if the weather's good.
You'll be tempted to stay in the massive beer garden for a couple of drinks, but that's only a choice made by rookies. There are plenty more pubs to go.
8. Hyde Park
Don't make the mistake of getting a taxi down the road to Hyde Park. You'll be thankful for the fresh air on the 15 minute walk later in the night.
Expect plenty of tooting horns as bewildered people in cars chuckle at your outfit (which isn't quite as flawless as it was a few hours ago).
You're just over halfway at this point - a substantial marker that you're doing well.
9. The Library
It's another 10 minute walk across Woodhouse Moor before you arrive at The Library, which is the ideal pub for a round of Jägerbombs to pick up those who are starting to feel a little weary.
10. The Pack Horse
You're now on the home stretch, but it's at this stage where a few people start to drop out of the running.
The Pack Horse is akin to something your dad would call 'a proper pub with proper beer'. But 10 pubs in isn't the time for a real ale.
11. Eldon
It's yet another short walk (or stumble, for some) past Mahmoods to pub number 11, where there's no end of drinks deals that'll go easy on your wallet - much-needed after your bank account's taken a big hit over the past few hours.
Steady yourselves folks, just three pubs left.
12. The Fenton
We'll be honest folks, your vision will be more than a little blurry by this stage - and so is our memory.
All we remember is that it's a pub and it serves alcohol. That'll do nicely.
13. Strawbs
We're so far along the Otley Run that it'd probably be sensible to go for a drink with very little alcohol in it... but have you seen the prices of the cocktails in here?!
Now gather yourselves together folks. Make sure you've got every member of the troupe still standing, and make that momentous stroll over the road to your final destination.
14. The Dry Dock
Just pray for good weather, because this iconic-looking bar is a sensational place to have (another) pint on a warm evening.
If you've made it this far, you've done well. Incredibly well in fact.
Many young pretenders have set off with the intention of getting this far, only to be struck down by the ills of an afternoon of drinking.
The Dry Dock marks is your final marker though. You've had plenty of drink and your fancy dress outfit is now covered in all sorts of drinks stains, but you've completed the Otley Run! Cheers to that!
