Every player released by Premier League teams as Leeds United gear up for hectic transfer window

Things are slowly falling into place at Leeds United as confirmation that the club's takeover has been agreed last Friday was followed up by the appointment of Nick Hammond as an interim football advisor on Thursday, as focus shifts to the transfer window.

Once Leeds finally appoint their new head coach, the club can really begin their summer wheeling and dealing, with busy couple of months expected. Relegation means that high-profile players will inevitably leave, while there are several gaps in the squad that need filling before the unrelenting Championship season begins.

Leeds, therefore, will have a lengthy shopping list and following the publication of the Premier League's retained and released list, there may be one or two that catch the club's eye.

The Premier League quantify that some of those players signified as a “free transfer” or released by a club on the expiry of their contract on 30 June could still remain in situ for the upcoming season; fresh terms can be agreed, after all.

They say their list should not be seen as “definitive” for departing players and add a player’s status may have changed since the lists were submitted. That aside, here is the list of every player released by Premier League clubs.
