Free agency frenzy is upon us! The legal tampering period opens Monday afternoon, where teams can begin negotiating with agents before deals become official with the new league year.
With some big-name free agents on the market, things should heat up in the first two days before the new league year begins Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT.
The 2023 salary cap is set at $224.8 million, which is a $16.6 million increase from the 2022 season ($208.2 million).
For the Bears, they’re projected to have roughly $75 million in available cap, which is the most in the NFL — even after acquiring wide receiver DJ Moore in a trade with the Carolina Panthers. The next closest team is the Falcons ($63.8 million).
Chicago is sitting in a great position ahead of free agency, where general manager Ryan Poles will look to build up this roster.
