The cost of living crisis shows no sign of slowing down in Ireland.
Having seen the Government forced to intervene on more than two occasions so far, the crisis has been exacerbated by the delicate nature of the illegal invasion of Ukraine.
With questions over the output of gas, energy and electricity in the next few weeks due to sanctions and counter-sanctions, many of the providers have attempted to get ahead of the curve.

So far, we've had five of the main providers opt to raise their prices.
PrepayPower.ie
We learned first of PrepayPower's move to deal with the rising cost of gas and electricity.
The price change was announced at the start of March and will see an increase in electricity and gas rates by 9.9% and 19.9%, respectively.
This increase came into effect on Friday morning.
Bord Gais
Bord Gais were the second big provider to announce an increase.
On March 15, the company announced that it would be ending its winter price pledge, due to rising wholesale costs.
This meant that electricity bills would increase by 27%, while the average gas bill would go up by a massive 39%.
The change, which was described by the company itself as “not welcome news”, will come into effect from April 15.
Energia
In the aftermath of the Bord Gais news, a number of companies said they were keeping prices under review but they are dependent on the current "volatile" market forces.
But last week we saw another company bring the price up.
Energia revealed they were set to iincrease its prices by up to 15%.
The company said the increases are a result of a "sustained period of elevated global energy market prices."
The hikes meant an increase of €4.75 per week for the average electricity customer and €3.35 for the average gas customer.
Electric Ireland
Electric Ireland were next up on Wednesday, when they became the latest major provider to hike its prices up - with residential electricity going up 23.4% and gas prices by 24.8%.
The changes will come into effect on May 1. The increase will equate to €24.80 per month on the average residential electricity bill and €18.35 per month on the average residential gas bill.
SSE Airtricity
Then, on Friday morning, we got the news that SSE Aitricity would be putting their prices up as well.
This change will see an average electricity customer’s bill increase by 24%, which will result in an extra €338 in an annual bill. In comparison, an average customer’s gas bill will go up by 32.3%, costing an additional €333 annually.
Customers will be charged an additional €6.50 per week on an average electricity bill and €6.40 per week on the average gas bill
