Every game and release date announced during September 2022’s Nintendo Direct

Another Nintendo Direct has come and gone. As is often the case, September 2022’s broadcast was overflowing with brilliant video game announcements — about 54 in total, even.

Sure, there’s no topping The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom‘s release date reveal or Goldeneye 007 finally coming back, but the smaller stuff deserves shout-outs too. It’s a lot to take in, especially if someone missed the showcase.

Luckily for you, we’ve put together a list of every game and release date announcement from the September 2022 Nintendo Direct below!

September 2022

The biggest release for this month is probably Splatoon 3, which is obviously already out – but there are now dates for post-launch events.

  • Various Daylife – Sept. 13, 2022
  • Radiant Silvergun – Sept. 13, 2022
  • Season 2 of Fall Guys – Sept. 15, 2022
  • Splatoon 3 post-launch Splatfest – Sept. 23, through Sept. 25, 2022
  • Tunic – Sept. 27, 2022
  • Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection – Sept. 27, 2022
  • Mario Strikers’ second free update – [no specific date, sometime in Sept. 2022]

October 2022

After being missing in action for years, everyone’s favorite witch will take center stage in Bayonetta 3. Undoubtedly the spooky season’s biggest game.

  • Xenoblade 3 second DLC wave – Oct. 13, 2022
  • Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope – Oct. 20, 2022
  • Bayonetta 3 – Oct. 28, 2022
  • Factorio – Oct. 28, 2022
  • Resident Evil Village (cloud version) – Oct. 28, 2022

November 2022

Some solid ports are coming to Switch this fall, but none are quite as hype as the Front Mission remake.

  • It Takes Two – Nov. 4, 2022
  • Harvestella – Nov. 4, 2022
  • Sifu – Nov. 8, 2022
  • Just Dance 2023 – Nov. 22, 2022
  • Front Mission 1st: Remake – [no specific date, sometime in Nov. 2022]

December 2022

The holiday’s a little more barren for Nintendo’s console, but at least Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will make up for it.

  • Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song: Remastered – Dec. 1, 2022
  • Resident Evil Village: Winters Expansion – Dec. 2, 2022
  • Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion – Dec. 13, 2022

Unannounced dates for 2022

The following titles and DLC don’t have firm release dates yet but should land before year’s end.

  • Mario Kart 8 third wave DLC
  • Nintendo Switch Sports gold DLC
  • Nintendo 64 games for Switch Online Expansion: Pilotwings 64, Mario Party 1 & 2, Goldeneye
  • Pikmin Bloom
  • The Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes and Resident Evil 7 (cloud editions)
  • Disney Speedstorm

Winter 2023

The biggest Nintendo Switch title to kick off 2023 is Fire Emblem Engage, no contest.

  • Fire Emblem Engage – Jan. 20, 2023
  • Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key – Feb. 24, 2023
  • Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe – Feb. 24, 2023
  • Theatrhythm Final Bar Line – Feb. 26, 2023
  • Octopath Traveller 2 – Feb. 24, 2023
  • Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse – [no specific date, sometime in early 2023]
  • Oddballers – [no specific date, sometime in early 2023]
  • Tales of Symphonia Remaster – [no specific date, sometime in early 2023]

Spring 2023

There’s nothing bigger than The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – perhaps for all of 2023, not just during the spring season. Also helps that it’s the only release within this window with an actual date.

  • Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star
  • Fae Farm
  • Ib
  • Master Detective Archive RainCode
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – May 12, 2023

Unconfirmed 2023 releases

The following games have loose release dates of ‘sometime in 2023’ – and Pikmin 4 is probably more notable than the rest.

  • Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life
  • Lego Bricktales
  • Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake
  • Front Mission 2: Remake
  • Rune Factory 3 Special
  • Nintendo 64 games for Switch Online Expansion: Mario Party 3, Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, 1080 Snowboarding, Excitebike 64
  • Pikmin 4 – 2023
  • Endless Dungeon – 2023

Well, that does it! There’s no shortage of Nintendo Switch games over the coming months, that’s for certain.
