Unfortunately the festive season is finishing up and households around Dublin are boxing up their decorations for another year.
If your house has a real Christmas tree you're looking to get rid of, there's no shortage of places in Dublin where you can bring it to be recycled free of charge. The four County Councils are providing the service in dozens of locations around the capital over the next couple of weeks.
Here are all of the places you can bring your Christmas tree to be recycled for free around Dublin:

Dublin City Council will be accepting Christmas trees for recycling from January 6 to January 22 at the following places:
- Oscar Traynor Road Bring Centre, Oscar Traynor Road, Dublin 5
- Collins Avenue Bring Centre, Collins Avenue Extension, Dublin 9
- Grangegorman Bring Centre, Grangegorman Road Upper, Dublin 7
- Rathmines Bring Centre, Gullistan Terrace, Dublin 6
- Windmill Road Bring Centre, Windmill Road, Dublin 12
- Ringsend Civic Amenity Site, Pigeon House Road
- Liffey Gaels GAA Club, Sarsfield Road, Kilmainham, Dublin 8
- Sandymount Strand Car Park, Strand Road, Dublin 4
- Clontarf Road All Weather Pitches Car Park, Clontarf, Dublin 3
- Mellowes Park Depot, Mellowes Road, Finglas, Dublin 11
- Albert College Park, Whitehall, Dublin 9
Croke Park will also be offering the service from January 4 to 6 and the 9 to 13.
Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council have seven locations in their area offering the service from January 3 to January 15:

Fingal County Council will be recycling trees from January 3 to 17. They reminded the public that only Christmas trees will be accepted. Other green waste, Christmas tree stands, etc. will not be accepted.

South Dublin County Council will be operating their Christmas recycling service from January 3 to January 17 and said one tree per household/vehicle will be accepted. They are accepting trees at the following locations:

- Sarsfield Park open space
- Hayden’s Lane car-park in Griffeen Valley Park
- Foxborough open space
- Glenaulin Park
- Woodfarm Acres Clondalkin
- Corkagh Park (St John’s Road car-park)
- Corkagh Park (Green Isle car-park at caravan-park entrance)
- Collinstown Park
- Quarryvale Park
- Foxdene open space
- Grand Canal open space (junction of Bawnogue and Lockview roads)
- Raheen open space (opposite Raheen Shopping Centre) Greenhills
- Tymon Park – Limekiln car-park
- Tymon Park – Tymon North Road car-park Old Bawn
- Church car-park Tallaght (beside the shopping centre)
- Car-park at Cherryfield (off the link road between Firhouse Road and Spawell Roundabout)
- Car-park at Dodder Valley Park, Firhouse Road opposite Woodlawn Estate
- Rathfarnham Castle Park car-park Saggart
- Parks depot on Mill Lane
