Nando's is a go-to for many Bristolians in the mood for a bit of peri peri chicken and the chain, which opened its first restaurant in the UK some 30 years ago, has seven branches in the city. These include on Park Street, at Cabot Circus, Cribbs Causeway and further afield in Longwell Green, Abbey Wood and Yate.
But, with a chain so big, how can you tell if you're venturing out to a clean restaurant, where you can enjoy a meal with family and friends, without worry? We've taken a look at all of the Nando's restaurants in the area to see how the Food Standards Agency has rated them.
These inspections are carried out by the local authority and, each time a new inspection is carried out by the council, the findings are updated on the FSA's website. Places are assessed for a number of things, including how food is prepared, handled, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored.

The condition of buildings factor into inspections - including the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities. And how the business makes sure food is safe time and time again - each restaurant needs to ensure it has proven to the inspector that the highest standards will be maintained.
A rating of five means standards are very good, four means standards are good, three equals generally satisfactory standards and two, one and zero means some/major/urgent improvement is necessary/required.
Here's how our local Nando's restaurants fared in their most recent inspections. Please note, all information was correct at time of writing (October 8, 2022).
