Teenager Isaac Price has decided to call time on his 12-year stay at Everton by agreeing a summer transfer to Belgian club Standard Liege.
The highly-rated midfield prospect has already turned out three times for Everton’s first team under Frank Lampard – making a trio of substitute appearances against Boreham Wood, Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion – but the ECHO understands he has decided to move to the continent in search of more regular playing time.
Yorkshireman Price, who was born in Pontefract but is a Northern Ireland international having won his first two senior caps in March against San Marino and Finland, has been with the Blues since the age of seven.
Not 20 until September 26, because Price is under the age of 23, he will not be allowed to depart Goodison Park on a Bosman-style free transfer and Everton are entitled to £400,000 in UEFA compensation. Other Blues players whose current contracts expire this summer include captain Seamus Coleman, Yerry Mina, Tom Davies, Andros Townsend, Asmir Begovic, Andy Lonergan and Abdoulaye Doucoure although the club are understood to have an option on the latter’s deal.
