With a busy midweek schedule in the Premier League, here’s our Everton Vs Wolves preview, prediction, team news and confirmed lineups ahead of Wednesday’s match.
Everton Vs Wolves Preview
With the Toffees taking a 4-0 thumping at Manchester United on Sunday, many believe Sean Dyche is running out of time.
Everton are 15th in the Premier League table at the moment, but only two points above the relegation zone.
With a daunting festive schedule that includes trips to Arsenal and Manchester City as well as home games against Liverpool and Chelsea, this week’s clash with Wolves takes on even greater importance.
Lose on Wednesday, and Everton could well fail to pick up another point in 2024. They do host Nottingham Forest on 29 December, but Forest themselves are flying and only two points below Manchester City.
Everton haven’t made such a poor start to the season since 1994, and are once again starting down the barrel of a relegation scrap.
But if Everton’s start to the campaign has been poor, Wolves’ has been nothing short of disastrous.
The West Midlands outfit have conceded a staggering 32 goals in just 13 games, and have picked up just nine points so far.
They looked to have turned a corner after beating Southampton and Fulham for their first league wins of the season, before being brutally brought down to earth in a 4-2 loss to Bournemouth last time out.
Wolves will also be targeting this game as a huge opportunity for three points. Gary O’Neil’s side have won on their last three trips to Goodison Park, and are unbeaten in six against Everton.
Neither side can afford to lose this one, so we can expect a nervy encounter.

As for Wolves, Gary O’Neil has made four changes to the side that lost to Bournemouth last time around – as Matt Dohrty, Santiago Bueno, Craig Dawson and Goncalo Guedes all feature.

Everton Vs Wolves Prediction
Everton have looked poor all season, and possess the joint-lowest goal tally in the league. They are facing the leakiest Premier League defence, but Wolves have at least been able to score plenty.
Neither side can afford to lose this one, but we think Wolves might just edge it and possibly spell the end for Sean Dyche as Toffees manager.
Prediction: Everton 1-2 Wolves
