Everton vs West Ham fixture latest as £750m figure could interest investors

Here are your Sunday morning Everton FC headlines.

Everton fixture latest

Everton’s clash with West Ham United could still go ahead next weekend despite concerns of further postponements.

This weekend’s games - including the Blues’ planned trip to Arsenal this afternoon - were all cancelled as a mark of respect for the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, aged 96. And there were further concerns that some of next weekend’s games would clash with the state funeral, therefore being called off again.

However on Saturday afternoon, King Charles III confirmed at his proclamation the Queen's funeral would be marked by a Bank Holiday for the country, the date of which was confirmed as Monday, September 19.

There are still concerns that next weekend’s games are under threat due to policing issues, with officers expected to be deployed in London for the state funeral over the weekend, but those problems are expected to affect mainly fixtures in the capital.

£750million figure

The future ownership of Everton was once again the subject of speculation over the summer, with a US consortium led by property tycoon Maciek Kaminski reportedly keen on a takeover - Farhad Moshiri insisted, however, the club was not for sale and went on to spend over £80million on summer signings.

Key to the takeover talks was the reported value of the club, with estimates ranging massively from £500million and £1billion, but the true value has always been near-impossible to determine.

Combining complex analysis of Premier League club values and Everton’s three-year average turnover suggests an intriguing value around £750million. Such a value is only one reason potential investors would be so interested in Everton, with the club taking strikes to improve on the pitch under Frank Lampard while developing a new £500million stadium.
