Everton Vs Peterborough Player Ratings: Armstrong Impresses

Here’s our Everton vs Peterborough player ratings as the Toffees beat the League One side 2-0 in the FA Cup 3rd round on Thursday.

Everton Player Ratings (3-4-2-1)

Joao Virginia – 6

The backup goalkeeper really didn’t have a lot to do but did make a smart save in the first-half. Done what he had to do with minimal fuss.

Nathan Patterson – 7

Was one of Everton‘s better performers. Offered plenty of attacking threat and looked solid defensively. Unlucky not to have an assist when Gueye missed.

Michael Keane – 6.5

A decent showing as he battles back from the recent injury troubles. Was rarely threatened at the back and could have easily got on the scoresheet

Jarrad Branthwaite – 7

Showed his class with a fine block on the line and marshalled his teammates well throughout the game. A solid and composed performance.

Jake O’Brien – 6

Hasn’t featured much at all this season and at times it showed. Grew into the game and like his comrades, didn’t have a huge amount to worry about from Peterborough.

Vitalii Mykolenko – 5.5

Probably Everton’s poorest player. Was almost at fault for a goal but did get back to cover well. Needs to step up in the upcoming Premier League games.

Idrissa Gueye – 7

Went close to scoring the opener in the first-half. A combative performance in midfield helped thwart the visitors attacking presence.

Orel Mangala – 6.5

Smacked the crossbar with a rasping effort but looked a bit shaky defensively. Gave away some needless free-kicks which could have been punished in the top-flight.

Harrison Armstrong – 8

An FA Cup performance to remember for the young academy star. Assisted the opener and generally looked like a threat all night. A bright future awaits.

Iliman Ndiaye – 6

Although he netted the last-minute penalty, it was a largely unforgettable performance and he rarely threatened. Drited out of the game too much.

Beto – 7

Rounded the keeper and scored the opener in what was a decent performance. Perhaps should have scored minutes before but the forward looked effective and offered plenty of energy.

Ashley Young – 5 (for Patterson, 73′)
