Everton have been slow to move in the transfer window so far - and have adding just James Tarkowski to their ranks.
But they are set to step up the ins and outs over the next week with Ruben Vinagre set to be confirmed as a second deal imminently and a couple of exits in the offing. Whispers about Dominic Calvert-Lewin being a target for Newcastle are still doing the rounds.
But they look well wide of the mark with Lampard unlikely to sanction the sale of his chief marksman so close to the start of the season. Mirror Sport brings you the best the Everton transfer news, rumours and gossip.
Gomes edges closer to exit
Everton are open to the idea of letting Andre Gomes leave the club this summer after falling down the pecking order at Goodison Park. Speculation surrounding his future has grown after not featuring in a single minute of any of Everton's friendlies during their pre-season tour of the United States. And with Italian website Juve Dipendenza floating the idea of some kind of swap with Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, Everton look happy for him to depart should a suitable offer come in. Gomes, 28, made only 19 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees during the 2021-22 season, scoring one goal and laying on two assists.
The Portugal midfielder is one of Everton’s highest earners on £100,000 a week and was an integral part of their outfit after a £22million deal brought him to Merseyside from Barcelona three years ago. But a horror ankle injury in 2019 derailed his Premier League career and he has struggled to make an impact under successive managers since.

Vinagre deal in the bag
Everton have put the finishing touches to a deal to sign Sporting CP left-back Ruben Vinagre on a season-long loan with an option to buy according to 90min. The Toffees have not exactly been busy with the free signing of former Burnley centre-back Tarkowski the only arrival at Goodison Park so far.
But various sources are confirming Vinagre will be the second after agreeing to join Everton on a 12-month loan, with the option to make the move permanent for around £17m. Vinagre, 23, spent last season at Sporting Lisbon on loan from Wolves but Lampard sees him as perfect competition for Vitaliy Mykolenko on the left side of Everton's defence.
Loan deal for rising star
Everton midfielder Tyler Onyango looks on the verge of a loan move to Burton Albion according to Football Insider. Onyango, 19, is highly-regarded at Goodison and made three first-team appearances last season against Manchester City, Chelsea and Aston Villa.
A number of EFL clubs enquired about taking the box-to-box midfielder on loan this season, but Burton have moved quickly to agree a deal to sign the England U18 international. The midfielder has been at Goodison Park since he was eight years old and made his senior debut aged 17.
