Everton transfer news as Willy Gnonto claim made and Amadou Onana future again questioned

Everton are said to be interested in Leeds United forward Willy Gnonto.

According to reports from Sky Italia, the recently-relegated forward is attracting eyes from those at Goodison Park over a potential switch this summer. Sean Dyche is already known to be in the market for further forward options, following the injury-hit campaign suffered to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Gnonto, who is now competing in the Under-21 European Championships in Romania and Georgia with Italy's youth team, made an impact in his first Premier League season after signing from FC Zurich in the summer, scoring two goals and registering four assists in 22/23.

A potential second season in England in the second tier would seem a strange one given his talent for a dwindling Leeds side who changed their manager three times in an attempt to remain in the top flight. The 19-year-old would be available for a fee of around £18million.

Elsewhere, further speculation has again started to gather regarding the future of Toffees midfielder, Amadou Onana, with Manchester United and Erik ten Hag again circling around the midfielder.

The Red Devils are seemingly locked into a long-term battle with Chelsea for England midfielder Mason Mount, with their third bid for the player said to have been turned down less than 24 hours ago.

Onana, who joined Everton from Ligue 1 outfit Lille in August 2022 was once again one of the sides' standout performers in another relegation-threatened campaign, further amplifying his abilities at the age of just 22.

According to journalist Dean Jones in GiveMeSport, United could make a dash for the Belgian international but at present are willing to see how other midfield options pan out, given their links with Mount, Adrien Rabiot and Declan Rice.
