Vitor Pereira is one of the candidates currently being considered by Everton for their managerial vacancy.
Reports on Sunday night stated that the 53-year-old was set for talks with Everton but one claim from Portugal that a full agreement between Pereira and the Blues had already been reached is believed to be wide of the mark at this stage.
The ECHO understands that the process to identify Rafa Benitez’s replacement as the new Everton manager is ongoing and that Pereira is one of three potential candidates currently under consideration.

Pereira, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard’s names have been discussed and while Goodison Park chiefs are yet to be fully convinced over any man’s individual merits, owner Farhad Moshiri is eager to make an appointment swiftly if possible after Everton slumped to a 10th Premier League defeat in their last 13 matches in the competition on Saturday.
Caretaker manager Duncan Ferguson’s side produced a disappointing performance in a 1-0 home reversal against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa which leaves 16 th placed Everton just four points clear of the relegation zone.
