Everton are hoping to bring Dele Alli to Goodison Park before the window closes tonight.
The ECHO understands that Everton are now working to finalise a deal to bring Alli to the club after they agreed his transfer with Tottenham Hotspur.
New manager Lampard has been given the go ahead by the Blues to try and sign Alli on deadline day as looks to strengthen his midfield.
This time last year, the 25-year-old looked set to move to Paris Saint-Germain, only for the deal to fall through late in the day.

And the numbers 28, 29, 36, 36, 37, 39, 41, 42, 45, 47, 51 are all available for Alli to wear once his deal with the Blues is finalised, as are all numbers up from 52.
Alli has worn number 20 for Tottenham, but that shirt number is currently taken by forward Cenk Tosun.
Just a couple of hours ago, the number 30 was also available, but that has now been taken by Donny van de Beek, who has joined the club on loan until the end of the season from Manchester United.
Van de Beek has struggled to break into the first team at Manchester United since a £39m move from Ajax in the summer of 2020.
The Dutchman was number 34 for United, but that was recently taken by Anwar El Ghazi, who joined the club on loan from Aston Villa a couple of weeks ago.
“I chose 34 because my dear friend Abdelhak Nouri, who collapsed a few years ago, wore this number,” El Ghazi explained after joining the club.
“It’s not going very well for him, so I want to pay respect to him and there are some other players who are doing that as well.
“I thought this is a new opportunity for me at a great club so it’s a great moment to do so because this is an important move for me. I’m really excited to be here, and it makes everything that little bit more beautiful.”
