Everton's recent form shows how Leeds United can capitalise on out-of-sorts Toffees

Leeds United will hope to further capitalise on Everton's recent Premier League woes ahead of the two sides meeting this weekend.

The Toffees were beaten 3-1 by fellow strugglers Newcastle United earlier this week, leaving new manager Frank Lampard facing a tough uphill battle.

Adding both Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek to his arsenal on transfer deadline day most recently, the former Chelsea boss was appointed as Rafa Benitez's successor following the Spaniard's dismissal last month.

Everton currently sit 16th in the Premier League table and are statistically the out of form side in the division.

Winning not one of their last six domestic outings, the Toffee's are yet to record a victory in the league in 2022.

The Whites will hope to add to salt to the already open wound this weekend, as they make the trip to Merseyside.

United however put on a fine showing at Villa Park in midweek, with Dan James netting twice in the enthralling 3-3 draw with Steven Gerrard's side.

Sitting just one place about Everton in the table, Marcelo Bielsa's men were held by the Blues earlier this season, as Mateusz Klich and Raphinha both netted in the 2-2 draw at Elland Road.

With the Blues only finding the net a mere 25 times this season, it is also worth noting the impact Dominic Calvert-Lewin can have on the side.

Having featured a mere six times all season, the England international has since returned from a lengthy toe injury to make the bench in recent weeks.

Leeds themselves will be bidding to steer clear of any relegation woes on Saturday, with both teams locking horns in a crucial six-pointer.
