Rasmus Kristensen's deflected strike helped Leeds United to move within a point of Everton as they drew with Newcastle United at Elland Road.
The Whites remain in the bottom three after their 2-2 draw with the Magpies. But it could have been worse after two penalties from Callum Wilson fired the Champions League-chasing Magpies in front.
As a result of the draw, Leeds move up to third from bottom and within one point of 17th-placed Everton, who face table-topping Manchester City at Goodison Park tomorrow (Sunday 2pm).

Luke Ayling fired the Elland Road outfit in front after pouncing on a loose ball following Nick Pope's save. But the England goalkeeper atoned for his error as he saved Patrick Bamford's penalty.
However, the Magpies were awarded two penalties in the first and second half firstly after Maximilian Wober was penalised for a wild swipe in the box before Junior Firpo was adjudged to have handled in the box after Simon Hooper went over to the monitor.
Both times Wilson fired beyond former Blues goalkeeper Joel Robles. But they were forced to settle for a point after Kristensen's deflected strike brought the sides level with 12 minutes remaining.
Nottingham Forest, who are 16th, then drew 2-2 at Chelsea. Southampton lost 2-0 at home to Fulham and are now relegated.
