Everton slipped down into 19th in the Premier League table on Wednesday night, as Nottingham Forest beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 at the City Ground.
The visitors took the lead early on, although an own goal from Pascal Gross, a second-half strike from Danilo and a late penalty from Morgan Gibbs-White gave the Toffees' relegation rivals a crucial victory.
Forest are now in 17th on 30 points, with Leicester in 18th on 29 - two points and one point ahead of the Blues respectively.

Everton have a huge fixture of their own on Thursday at Goodison Park, with high-flying Newcastle United the visitors.
The Toffees can jump ahead of Leicester and Leeds - who drew 1-1 at Elland Road on Tuesday - with three points, although that will be a huge challenge against Eddie Howe's side, who have lost just three times all season.
Everton will then visit the Foxes on Monday in what promises to be another huge clash at the bottom. The Toffees won 2-1 at the King Power last season on what was a vital win on their eventual path to securing Premier League safety.
