No fewer than 29 players turned out for Everton in their 17 Premier League and Carabao Cup matches before the World Cup break but just how did they all fare in the ECHO’s player ratings? Whether it was Chris Beesley, Adam Jones or Connor O’Neill, the ECHO had a reporter at all of the Blues fixtures, marking each player out of 10 for their display and after extensive calculations, totting up all of their scores, the results for the 2022/23 campaign so far making illuminating reading as always.
Last season there were three perfect 10s dished out by our writers. Dominic Calvert-Lewin earned one after he proved the saviour against Crystal Palace in with his diving header in front of the Gwladys Street in the 3-2 comeback win over Crystal Palace that confirmed Everton’s top flight status in their final home game.
Jordan Pickford earned the same mark for his incredible saves to deny Chelsea in the 1-0 victory earlier that month while Alex Iwobi for his last-gasp winner against Newcastle United that came nine minutes into stoppage time.

In contrast, Salomon Rondon was given a mark of just 1 for getting sent off just four minutes after his late arrival as a substitute in the 3-2 home loss to Brentford when Frank Lampard’s side wasted an earlier opportunity to confirm their survival.
This term 9 has been the highest score so far with Pickford earning it against both Liverpool and Southampton plus Seamus Coleman and Alex Iwobi both against Crystal Palace. The lowest to date has been the 3 given to Mason Holgate at Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup but here’s a full rundown, in reverse order of average ratings, of all the players to turn out for Everton throughout 2022/23 before the Qatar-enforced halt in proceedings.
