Jordan Pickford 7
Had to be alert to make two smart saves with his feet at either end of the first half – denying Pedro Porro and Son Heung-Min (who was offside but he didn’t know that at the time) but was sent the wrong way from the penalty spot by England team-mate Kane.
Seamus Coleman 7
Had to make some crucial interceptions and was a willing outlet going forward for the first 60 minutes before having to dig deep after the sending off.
Ben Godfrey 7
Again displayed the athleticism and physicality at full-back that has seen him displace Vitalii Mykolenko in recent matches but could benefit from more composure at times, although he went close to breaking the deadlock with a shot that was deflected wide by Eric Dier.

Michael Keane 9
From penalty villain to match-saving hero, his sweetly-struck last-minute equaliser came from nowhere, having ad defended well in difficult circumstances and looked assured in the air but gave David Coote the opportunity to point to the spot when Christian Romero went down under his challenge in the area.
James Tarkowski 8
Dominant display in both boxes and always a threat with headers from set-pieces, he stood up well against one of the best in the business in Harry Kane.
Idrissa Gueye 7
While he’s not a natural finisher, he really should have done better when presented with time and space in the area early in the second half, only to blaze over the bar, although he went closer with an effort tipped over the bar and was impressive in carrying out his usual tasks of sniffing out danger in the engine room.
Abdoulaye Doucoure 3
Had put in a real shift for an hour but crossed a line when it came to being up for the fight by raising his hand to Harry Kane when they clashed by the touchline and although the England captain went down theatrically, the Everton midfielder left referee David Coote with a straightforward decision to show him a straight red.
Amadou Onana 7
An elegant display at times, he produced some lovely touches to offer glimpses of the massive potential he offers without quite taking control of proceedings and some of his long range shots were easy takes for Lloris.
Alex Iwobi 6
Deserves credit for his work-rate with his hard-running down the right ensuring he remained an outlet but too often his decision-making let him down with his final ball.
Dwight McNeil 7
Another big shift down the flanks but it was indicative of how this game went that his best work came while defending as he tracked back and made some crucial interceptions, including hooking clear when Porro was set to pounce.
Demarai Gray 7
The seemingly unorthodox Sean Dyche centre-forward produced another energetic outing up front, buzzing in and around the area with his twinkling toes before making way for his more direct replacement.
Ellis Simms (on 76 for Gray) 7
Brought a different dimension up front again late on.
Vitalii Mykolenko (on 76 for Coleman) 6
Slipped up several times after coming off the bench but was a positive runner.
Tom Davies (on 83 for Onana)
Fresh legs in midfield in the latter stages.
James Garner (on 83 for Gueye)
Ditto.
