Jordan Pickford - 6
There was not much he could do about either goal, once again thanks to errors that had already taken place in front of him. For much of the match his distribution down the left flank was Everton's main source of attacking intent.
Seamus Coleman - 6
Was at the centre of the nitty-gritty with his clashes against Diogo Jota. In a defensive sense he was combative and energetic as ever, but he couldn't inspire his side to a result on this occasion.
Mason Holgate - 6
Was called upon to make a number of important clearances in the first half and generally kept things simple as much as he could, which is exactly what his side needed. This was a solid display and he'll be disappointed it didn't end with a clean sheet.

Michael Keane - 6
A late call-up but he settled into the rhythm of the game fairly well. For the majority of the match he kept the simple things right, but he didn't track the run of Divock Origi well enough to stop him scoring the second goal.
Vitalii Mykolenko - 7
Given the tough task of defending against Mohamed Salah and played the first half admirably with a couple of great one-on-one duels. It was the Egypt international who got clear to set up the opening goal, but this was still a very assured display from Mykolenko.
Allan - 6
Was asked to shield the back four and had to do a lot of work off the ball, with the majority of that proving very useful to the visitors. He hardly got a chance in possession himself, however, which might have been expected.
Abdoulaye Doucoure - 6
A good return to the line-up, making some solid interceptions in the centre of the pitch to disrupt Liverpool's momentum in the opening half in particular. He got up to support the attack regularly, too, but couldn't have the right impact.
Alex Iwobi - 6
Played in a deeper-lying role in this match and adapted to it well, using his energy to press Liverpool into mistakes whenever he could. His creative talents were limited by his deeper position, but some of his passes were still effective.
Demarai Gray - 6
Was a little isolated on the right flank when going forward, but defensively got back fairly well for much of the first half. He couldn't keep that up for the second period, however, despite nearly equalising with a rasping effort from outside the box.
Anthony Gordon - 7
Everton's best outlet once again here. His tenacity and work-rate were crucial in getting his team forward and making sure they had any threat in the final third - and on another day he might have had a penalty to his name as well.
Richarlison - 6
Really put himself about and made some dangerous runs beyond the Liverpool defence in the first half particularly, getting onto Pickford's long balls up from the back. However, in the second period he faded and couldn't get himself into dangerous areas.

Dele Alli - 6
Worked really well to almost put a chance on a plate for Iwobi shortly after being introduced.
Salomon Rondon - N/A
Came on too late to have any real impact.
