Everton player ratings as Alex Iwobi and three others superb against Manchester United

Jordan Pickford - 8

Produced some crucial saves at the start of the match to keep his side level as United dominated the opening stages. He was called upon less as the game went on but still had to be alert, particularly from a long-range Paul Pogba strike 10 minutes from time.

Seamus Coleman - 6

Marcus Rashford got a bit of joy down that flank in the first half, with Coleman's long passes down the touchline proving disappointing in setting up Everton attacks. However, things did improve after the break as the captain quite clearly gave everything for his performance.

Michael Keane - 6

A few nervy moments dominated his first half, with sloppy passes almost allowing United the chances they need to find the back of the net. But the second period was much more like the Michael Keane fans want to see, including a crucial header to stop a dangerous cross finding Cristiano Ronaldo's head six yards out.

AS IT HAPPENED: Updates and analysis from Everton vs Manchester United

Ben Godfrey - 7

A solid display from the centre-back, carrying on from what was a generally strong performance against Burnley on Wednesday apart from his error. He won important headers, made crucial interceptions and had great positioning throughout the 90 minutes.

Vitalii Mykolenko - 7

A really promising display from the January signing who looked to have really settled into his new surroundings. He made a great run in the build-up to Everton's goal to drag a defender away and open up space for Richarlison. In general his defensive display was very strong and this was no doubt his best game for his new side so far.

Fabian Delph - 8

Just has a knack for being in the right place at the right time, whether to make an interception or to ask for a pass. He was everywhere Everton needed him to be throughout his time on the pitch and proved exactly why so many fans were placing such importance on his return to fitness.

Allan - 7

Everton have certainly missed his ability on the ball, with the Brazilian often picking up possession and driving his side forwards. On top of that, his pressing of United high up the pitch in a more advanced role allowed Everton to win the ball back in much more dangerous areas.

Alex Iwobi - 8

His energy and work-rate off the ball particularly were a shining example that every other Everton player should be following for the rest of the campaign. This was arguably his best performance since arriving at the club - full of skill, strength, desire, pace and attacking intent.

Anthony Gordon - 8

Another who is putting everything into his performances right now, and his reward came with a goal to put the Blues in front, albeit with the helping hand of a major deflection. That strike was no more than the winger deserved for another absolutely tireless display.

Richarlison - 7

Not quite as influential as he was in midweek, with United doing fairly well to nullify his threat for the most part. However, his work-rate in the second half particularly was absolutely vital for Everton picking up a three points that could be so important.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin - 6

Nothing seems to be coming off for him at the minute. Harry Maguire dominated their battle both in the air and on the ground with the striker really struggling to have much of an impact either in front of goal or in bringing his team-mates into the play around him.

Demarai Gray - 6

Settled into the game nicely and did his bit to work hard with the rest of his team-mates.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - N/A
