Everton next six games compared to relegation rivals after Burnley draw

Everton were dealt a minor setback in their bid to avoid relegation after Burnley secured an unlikely point at West Ham United to move within one points of the Blues.

Playing their first fixture since sacking manager Sean Dyche, under-23s boss and former Tranmere Rovers assistant manager Mike Jackson helped the Clarets to a respectable point at the London Stadium.

Frank Lampard's side must now attempt to issue a response away to Leicester City this weekend before making the short trip to Anfield next weekend.

The Toffees will have had spirits lifted following their win over Manchester United at Goodison Park, though must back up their most recent league result with further positive performances. As a number of sides continue to fight for their survival, below is a breakdown of how Everton's remaining fixtures compare to their relegation rivals.

16. Leeds - 33 points (32 matches played)

Leeds have turned their season around with three wins in their last four games, two of which have arrived away from home.

New head coach Jesse Marsch will have been pleased with the progress made during his brief tenure, though will recognise the difficulty of the Whites' upcoming opponents. Up first is a testing trip to the home of Crystal Palace, before facing three of the top six in quick succession.

Their match with Brentford on the final day of the season could prove pivotal, depending on whether or not the Whites can match the top teams they are set to face prior to this fixture.

April 25 - Crystal Palace (A)

April 30 - Man City (H)

May 8 - Arsenal (A)

May 11 - Chelsea (H)

May 15 - Brighton (H)

May 22 - Brentford (A)

17. Everton - 28 points (30 matches played)

Everton are next in action on Wednesday evening against Leicester, a match originally due to be played in December but was postposed on two occasions due to COVID-19 cases. The small matter of the Merseyside derby follows four days later, which will represent the toughest test of the Blues' remaining eight contests.

May begins in difficult fashion at home to Chelsea, though Lampard will have hopes of securing positive results against Watford and Brentford.

April 20 - Leicester (H)

April 24 - Liverpool (A)

May 1 - Chelsea (H)

May 7 - Leicester (A)

May 11 - Watford (A)

May 15 - Brentford (H)

18. Burnley - 25 points (31 matches played)

The Clarets looked to be on course for all three points at West Ham, only for Tomas Soucek to level late in the second half to earn a share of the spoils.

A key fixture for the club will be the match involving Watford at the end of the month, with this a winnable fixture and a chance to secure a much-needed three points.

April 21 - Southampton (H)

April 24 - Wolves (H)

April 30 - Watford (A)

May 7 - Aston Villa (H)

May 15 - Tottenham (A)

May 22 - Leeds (H)

19. Watford - 22 points (32 matches played)

Things are not looking good for the Hornets, who were beaten at home by Brentford at the weekend to hinder hopes of escaping the bottom three. And things don't get much easier for Roy Hodson's side, who travel to Manchester City in their next league match.

April 23 - Man City (A)

April 30 - Burnley (H)

May 7 - Crystal Palace (A)

May 11 - Everton (H)

May 15 - Leicester (H)

May 22 - Chelsea (A)

20. Norwich - 21 points (32 matches played)

Norwich's time in the Premier League looks to be coming to end once again following their 3-2 loss away to Manchester United on Saturday. Dean Smith's side trail Everton by seven points, though have played two more matches than the Toffees.

April 23 - Newcastle (H)

April 30 - Aston Villa (A)

May 7 - West Ham (H)

May 11 - Leicester (A)

May 15 - Wolves (A)

May 22 - Tottenham (H)
