Asmir Begovic has sent a farewell message to Everton supporters, all but confirming he will be leaving the club this summer.
The Bosnian goalkeeper joined the Blues in 2021 and has made a total of ten appearances in all competitions. Out of contract at the end of this month, it seems a decision has been made for the 35-year-old to seek a new challenge away from Merseyside.
A dependable figure when called upon, Begovic was stuck behind Jordan Pickford in the pecking order but has largely been unused due to a lack of progress in cup competitions.

Delivering his final words to Everton fans on social media, the shot-stopper tweeted: "To all Evertonians, thank you for the last two years and letting me be part of your club and embracing me as one of your own. It has been a pleasure to represent you all and be part of your whole community. To all the staff, players and most importantly you the fans, thank you and all the very best. Up the Toffees."
Sean Dyche still has Andy Lonergan at his disposal as a back-up option, though the 39-year-old is also approaching the end of his deal and is set to become a free agent. Joao Virginina, meanwhile, has returned fro his loan spell in the Eredivisie and still has one year to run on his Everton contract.
