Both suspended stars return
Chris Beesley: Michael Keane and Allan both return from suspension to be considered for a return against Manchester United and after an energy and emotionally-sapping week, I'd stick them both in with Jarrad Branthwaite and Mason Holgate making way.
Seamus Coleman - who was on the bench at Burnley - is also back from illness and can provide extra solidity on the right hand side of defence, the flank where both the Clarets' second and third goals came from.
It's perhaps a tad harsh on Alex Iwobi who played some probing through-balls at Turf Moor but I'd bring back Demarai Gray too in the hope that his pace can cause the visitors problems.
My team (4-4-2): Pickford; Coleman, Godfrey, Keane, Mykolenko; Gordon, Allan, Doucoure, Gray; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

Trio back in as DCL question lingers
Paul Wheelock: Perhaps Frank Lampard’s biggest task in the short turnover between the devastating defeat at Burnley on Wednesday night and today’s early-afternoon kick-off against Manchester United has been picking up his players. If they were anything like the fans in the hours after the final whistle at Turf Moor, it would have been no easy feat.
But while there is no getting away from the desperate situation the team and club find themselves in, Lampard was right to state in his press conference to preview the visit of United that the performance against the Clarets wasn’t bad. That hardly matters given the result was all important, and improved displays will mean absolutely nothing if careless, individual mistakes continue to be made, but Lampard has to remain positive.
The imminent return of Yerry Mina will be a huge lift and, even though today’s match will come too soon for the centre-back, the fact that Seamus Coleman and Fabian Delph are fit, and that Michael Keane and Allan are back from a suspension, should boost Lampard. Three of the four should start, with Coleman and Keane returning in a back four that also features Mason Holgate and, at left-back, Ben Godfrey, and with Allan joining Abdoulaye Doucoure and Alex Iwobi in the centre of the park.
Up front? There is no question that Richarlison and Anthony Gordon start. They were relentless in their desire to see the Blues to a vital victory at Burnley and did not deserve to be on the losing side. Dominic Calvert-Lewin should take a leaf out of their book. Evertonians are proud of the way the striker has developed throughout his time at Goodison Park and the injuries he has suffered this season have been hugely unfortunate. But the supporters need to see more from their No.9. He has Lampard’s backing, that much is clear, and that’s why he should be given another go from the start today. But, like all of his team-mates, he cannot leave anything out on that pitch.
My team (4-3-3): Pickford; Coleman, Holgate, Keane, Godfrey; Allan, Doucoure, Iwobi; Gordon, Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.
Connor O'Neill - Allan comes in with Gordon in new position
Another game, another selection dilemma for Frank Lampard for all the wrong reasons following the defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday night.
Jordan Pickford will no doubt start in goal, with Ben Godfrey and Vitaliy Mykolenko keeping their places at the back. While Michael Keane and Seamus Coleman should make up the rest of the back-four, with Coleman coming in for Jonjoe Kenny and Keane for Mason Holgate.
While in midfield, Allan should be given the nod alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure, with Anthony Gordon operating in front of them. Richarlison and Demarai Gray should start on either flank, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin tasked with leading the line.
My team (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Godfrey, Mykolenko; Allan, Doucoure; Gray, Gordon, Richarlison; Calvert-Lewin.
