Everton line-up confirmed for Leicester as Anthony Gordon and Nathan Patterson decisions made

Dwight McNeil replaces Anthony Gordon as Frank Lampard makes just the one change for the visit of Leicester City.

The 22-year-old earns a place in the starting line-up as Everton chase what would be an important win before the World Cup break. McNeil edges out the England Under-21 international, who is on the bench, for his first start since the trip to Tottenham Hotspur, when Gordon missed out due to suspension. Both scored last time Everton were at Goodison Park, in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Lampard has decided against bringing Nathan Patterson back into the starting eleven despite his return from injury. The Scotland international came on for Seamus Coleman at Fulham and responded well to his first minutes since the injury he suffered during the international break. But club captain Coleman maintains his place - and the armband.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin leads the attack once again, supported by McNeil and Demarai Gray for what is an important game for Lampard. A second consecutive home victory would move Everton into the top half of the Premier League table, pending results on Sunday and with just one more round of league games before the World Cup break.

Coleman joins Conor Coady, James Tarkowski and Vitalii Mykolenko - who scored a stunning goal when Everton clinched an important win at Leicester in May - in defence. Alex Iwobi, Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye complete the midfield with Jordan Pickford in goal.

EVERTON: Pickford; Mykolenko, Coady, Tarkowski, Coleman; Iwobi, Gueye, Onana; McNeil, Calvert-Lewin, Gray.

SUBS: Maupay, Begovic, Doucouré, Patterson, Davies, Gordon, Garner, Keane, Holgate.
