Everton line-up confirmed as Dominic Calvert-Lewin starts against Crystal Palace

Frank Lampard has resisted the temptation to change his starting line-up for the game with Crystal Palace following the defeat at Newcastle United.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose last Premier League strike was the goal that secured Everton's Premier League status when Palace last visited, retains his starting place as he continues his return from the knee injury that ruled him out of the opening fixtures of the season.

When asked whether the 25-year-old would be able to start his second game in a row, Lampard said yesterday: "We'll see."

Now, we have the answer and he will be supported again by Demarai Gray and Anthony Gordon, who Lampard keeps faith in after their performances in midweek. Idrissa Gueye, Alex Iwobi and Amadou Onana also start, though it remains to be seen whether they will be used in a slightly different manner in recent games.

Moving Onana and Gueye deeper to allow Iwobi to be a more creative influence in the final third has been mooted by some as a possible solution to Everton's struggles in front of goal. They also failed to muster a shot on target at Tottenham Hotspur - though Gray and Onana did miss glorious opportunities.

Seamus Coleman again captains the side, with Vitalii Mykolenko, Conor Coady and James Tarkowski completing the back four in front of Jordan Pickford.

For a second game in a row there are no Under-21s on the bench, though that is little surprise with the academy side in action in the Merseyside derby today.

EVERTON: Pickford; Mykolenko, Coleman, Coady, Tarkowski; Onana, Iwobi, Gueye; Gray, Calvert-Lewin and Gordon

SUBS: Begovic, Holgate, Keane, McNeil, Doucoure, Davies, Garner, Rondon, Maupay.
