Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Nathan Patterson are both absent from the Everton matchday squad for the match with Tottenham Hotspur.
Calvert-Lewin’s absence was expected after Sean Dyche’s pre-match press conference comments, but Patterson not making the squad comes as a surprise. The right-back is yet to play under Dyche but earned his first senior minutes since his recovery from injury while on international duty with Scotland over the past fortnight.
Ellis Simms is on the bench despite his last minute heroics at Stamford Bridge. As a result, Demarai Gray continues in the solitary role up front that he has occupied since being given his first start under Dyche at Nottingham Forest.

That match was the first in an unbeaten streak of three games that Everton hope to extend on Monday night. One point will move the Blues out of the bottom three and to 15th, while a win will see the club reach 13th - which would be the highest position attained under Dyche’s reign to date.
Dyche has named an unchanged starting XI for the fourth consecutive game, maintaining trust in the XI that has taken five points from the last three matches. Ben Godfrey retains his spot at left-back ahead of Vitalii Mykolenko while Abdoulaye Doucoure and Michael Keane, the two biggest beneficiaries of Dyche’s arrival, start again. James Garner received valuable minutes over the international break but does not break into the starting line up.
For Spurs Arnaut Danjuma, who made an eleventh hour U-turn to join the visitors ahead of Everton in January, is on the bench. Richarlison does not make the squad though.
Starting XI: Pickford; Godfrey, Tarkowski, Keane, Coleman; McNeil, Onana, Gueye, Doucoure, Iwobi; Gray.
Subs: Begovic, Holgate, Mina, Mykolenko, Maupay, Davies, Coady, Garner, Simms.
Spurs: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Pedro Porro, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.
