Everton learn FA Cup quarter-final opponents ahead of Boreham Wood fixture

Everton will take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup should they overcome Boreham Wood at Goodison Park tonight.

The draw for the last-eight was conducted ahead of tonight’s game at Goodison - with Everton the second name drawn out of the famous bowl by England boss Gareth Southgate.

Frank Lampard’s side booked their place in the fifth round after beating Hull City and Brentford in their previous two FA Cup ties this season.

Everton reached the quarter-finals of the competition last season but were knocked out by Manchester City 2-0 at Goodison.

Late goals from Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan inflicted heartbreak on the Blues as it was the furthest they'd gone in the competition since the 2015/16 season.

Everton last reached the final of the FA Cup back in 2009 - where they were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea at Wembley, despite taking a first minute lead through Louis Saha.

The quarter-finals of this season’s competition are scheduled to take place on weekend commencing Friday, March 18, meaning should the Blues make it through tonight, their Premier League game away to Watford would be postponed.
