Everton struck a dramatic late equaliser to prevent Liverpool from securing a memorable victory in the under-18s derby.
Martin Sherif struck his second goal of the game in the 90th minute to earn the Blues a 2-2 draw in the U18 Premier League North clash at Kirkby on Saturday afternoon.
The result means Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's young Reds - who earned an FA Youth Cup victory at Port Vale in midweek - have now gone five league games without a win while Everton, managed by Leighton Baines, are unbeaten in four.

Liverpool went ahead in the fifth minute when Elijah Gift forced Everton defender Jack Butler into coughing up possession and then fed the ball for Kareem Ahmed to score, but the visitors levelled five minutes before the break when Owen Barker set up Sherif to finish well.
Gift then restored Liverpool's advantage shortly before the hour when he cut in from the wing, ghosted past a defender and curled a shot into the bottom corner from outside the area.
But Sherif's second goal ensured honours finished even when, in the final minute of normal time, he accepted Matthew Apter's throughball and struck beyond Fabian Mrozek.
Liverpool are next in U18 Premier League North action on Saturday when they travel to Manchester United (kick-off 11am). Everton are at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers (kick-off 11.30am).
