Everton have been linked with a move for former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum
The Dutch international had been linked with a loan return to the Reds from Paris Saint-Germain after a difficult season in the French capital. Wijnaldum made 237 appearances and scored 22 goals from 2016 to 2021 while at Liverpool before rejecting a contract extension at the club and signing for the French champions.
And according to 90min, Paris Saint-Germain will allow the former Liverpool man to depart this summer. He started just 18 times for the Parisians as he struggled to nail down a regular spot under Mauricio Pochettino. The 31-year-old has two years remaining on his contract and while a sale would be preferable, a loan move looks more likely according to the reports.

The report states that Everton are interested in a move for the midfielder as Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell look to reshape the squad after a difficult season. He would help to replenish the midfield options and add quality following the departure of Fabian Delph and the return of Donny van de Beek to Manchester United following his loan spell. There is also uncertainty over the futures of Allan and Andre Gomes.
Leicester City, Wolves and West Ham are also rumoured to be keen on Wijnaldum while he has admirers in Italy, Germany and Spain. However, the midfielder’s priority is a return to England where he spent five years with Liverpool and another 12 months at Newcastle United.
