Everton are reportedly 'in talks' with Idrissa Gueye over a potential return to Goodison Park after being 'offered' the chance to recruit the 32-year-old.
Gueye spent three years as a Blue between 2016 and 2019 before leaving the club to seal a transfer switch to Paris Saint-Germain but does not appear to be in Christophe Galtier's plans. Galtier replaced Mauricio Pochettino as head coach earlier this month and is now seemingly putting his stamp on the side, with former Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum also said to be viewed as surplus to requirements.
A latest report by inews has claimed Frank Lampard has turned his attention to 'bolstering the spine' of his squad after the signing of Burnley winger, Dwight McNeil. It is added that a midfielder is 'top of the agenda' and the Blues are said to have been 'offered' Gueye as their quest for this profile of player continues.

Everton opting to strengthen in this area of the pitch would come as little surprise to supporters given the team's struggles in this department. Lewis Warrington is one individual who could be given opportunities to impress this campaign, though reinforcements could still be a possibility.
Commenting on the club's transfer vision after beating Blackpool in a pre-season friendly last week, Lampard said : "I said after the game in Minnesota we want to bring in players that can help fill that void as well because we want players in the squad, players who can improve the squad, we are all aware of that, we are all working so that is another side, but my day-to-day job is to focus on what we have got and train a bit better so people like Dele getting into those areas of course is a big plus.
"There is room for improvement from everyone today. It is absolutely not a finished article, as much as we were good, there are things to improve on, but little stories like Dele and Patts and Myko feeling confident and getting a good performance today is a good step forward."
