Everton are reportedly in talks to sign former Nottingham Forest loanee James Garner.
The 21-year-old impressed at the City Ground last season, contributing to the Reds' promotion to the Premier League. But since his return to Manchester United, it appears that he is not in manager Erik ten Hag's plans for the 2022/23 season.
Currently competing for a first-team spot with Fred and Scott McTominay, his opportunities will be further restricted following Casemiro's reported £60million arrival from Real Madrid. Despite being on the bench for the opening two games of the Premier League, he was left out of the squad in the 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday.

The talented youngster apparently has plenty of suitors chasing his signature, including Leicester City, Tottenham and Southampton. According to The Athletic, the Toffees are looking to secure the signing of Garner as they look to bolster their midfield with Dele Alli expected to depart Goodison Park. He is reportedly closing in on a switch to Turkish side Besiktas.
United are reportedly demanding a £14million fee for Garner, who has made seven first-team appearances for the Red Devils. Meanwhile, Forest who have so far made 16 signings this summer, are expected to bring a few more in before the deadline on September 1.
Should Forest pursue a deal for Garner before the deadline? Let us know in the comment section...
