Everton in 'four way battle' for Joan Gonzalez after Sean Dyche transfer admission

Everton are reportedly among a number of European clubs considering a move for Lecce central midfielder Joan Gonzalez.

That's according to Torro.it, who are reporting that the Blues are eyeing a move for the 21-year-old this summer. The report goes on to claim that AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are also interested in Gonzalez's signature.

So far this season, the midfielder has claimed three assists in 24 appearances in Serie A, but has been applauded for his tough tackling displays. Gonzalez is under contract at Lecce until 2027.

Everton manager Sean Dyche spoke to the media on Thursday before his side's match against ninth-placed Brentford this afternoon. The game is set to take place at Goodison Park.

And when asked about his squad and the transfer market, Dyche said: "The market doesn't care what we think anymore, you either pay it or you don't pay it. You just pay what a club wants or you don't pay."

Speaking last month, Blues boss Dyche revealed he will assess those players in his squad who are set to be out of contract this summer before new deals are handed out. Abdoulaye Doucoure, Yerry Mina, Tom Davies and Seamus Coleman are the four who have their deals expiring at the end of the current season.
