Former Everton captain Duncan Ferguson has left his position as manager of Forest Green Rovers.
Ferguson only joined the League Two club in January, signing a five-year contract; however, he was unable to stop their slide out of League One.
And now, after just over six months in charge, Ferguson has left the club following a change in sporting structure. The ECHO understands that chief scout Terry McPhillips has also left the club, despite only joining in April.
"It’d been a privilege to work with Dunc these last few months and this was a very difficult decision to make," Rovers chairman Dale Vince said in a club statement.

"I’m grateful to Dunc for joining us in such difficult circumstances and for all of his hard work at the club.
"But I feel this is overall the right decision for everyone and I wish Dunc well in his next coaching role. We are parting as friends. You can’t ask for much more than that."
At the time of his arrival, Rovers sat bottom of the League One table, with just 21 points from 28 games. Despite there being plenty of fanfare around his arrival, Ferguson only managed to pick up one league win in the 18 games he took charge of.
Everton’s under-21s are set to begin their pre-season schedule with a friendly against Rovers at the New Lawn Stadium later this month. The fixture had been arranged following a request from Ferguson to his old club.
