Everton fans face important Goodison Park question over Premier League survival hopes

For the second season running, Everton have found themselves fighting to stay in the Premier League - but will they be able to beat the drop this time around?

Since manager Sean Dyche replaced Frank Lampard, Everton have picked up 12 points from 11 games, with their last win coming against Brentford on March 11th. Under Frank Lampard this season, Everton picked up just 15 points in 20 games.

Dyche has a superior record to his predecessor, but it still isn’t quite the turnaround Blues fans would have hoped for.

Looking at the current table compared to this time last year, Everton find themselves slightly worse off. After 31 games last season, the Blues were sat 17th in the table with 29 points.

GET INVOLVED: Will the Blues avoid relegation? Answer this and three key Premier League survival questions in our latest poll below

This season they are in the same position, but with two fewer points. They have won fewer games and have a worse goal difference to this time last year, however they have also lost fewer games this season.

There has also been discontentment off the pitch. Fans have protested against the club owner and board of directors at Goodison Park before home matches in recent weeks.

There were also protests outside the club’s training ground on the January transfer window deadline day when the club failed to make any signings despite the team struggling for form.

The fight for Premier League survival could go down to the wire with only nine points separating Nottingham Forest in 18th and and Crystal Palace in 12th.

And looking at the Blues’ seven remaining fixtures, the relegation battle could be an interesting one. Everton are yet to travel to 19th-placed Leicester City and 13th-placed Wolves. They also visit Palace this weekend.

Everton’s away record this season has been poor. They’ve collected 10 points from 15 games on the road, with just one win.

Their home form has been better, with Everton having banked 17 points from 16 games, including five wins. However, their remaining home games this season will be a challenge, with Everton welcoming high-flying Newcastle and Manchester City to Goodison Park.

But it is their final game of the season that may prove vital to Everton’s season, when they welcome Bournemouth to Goodison

The Cherries are currently 14th in the table with 33 points. The home advantage may be crucial for Everton in this game if they don’t start picking up the points soon.
