Everton's chances of landing Mykhaylo Mudryk could face another blow, with Newcastle United the latest to emerge in the race for the 'Ukrainian Neymar', according to the i.
The Blues looked to be ahead of the chasing pack over the summer, having a €30million bid rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk, as confirmed by the club's sporting director Darijo Srna - who also claimed the 21-year-old was the third best right-winger in the world behind Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.
Mudryk has somewhat justified those claims with a brilliant start to the new season, particularly in the Champions League where he has two goals and two assists in two games. But, unfortunately for Everton, such performances on the European stage were always going to attract interest from other clubs.

Arsenal have been regularly linked since the close of the window, with the winger admitting he 'can't say no' to an offer from the Gunners, while Brentford reportedly made a late bid in the summer, sensing the opportunity to get in there before Europe's elite. And now Newcastle United are the latest to show their interest in the promising star, with the newly-rich club reportedly considering a £50million offer.
The Magpies were desperate to add creativity during the summer, with Eddie Howe frustrated at the inflated price-tags for the likes of Jack Harrison, James Maddison and Anthony Gordon from fellow Premier League rivals. And now they look to have set their sights on the European market, with Mudryk widely regarded as one of the most promising prospects around.
One senior recruitment source told the i in the report: “He is tailor-made for English football and every club knows it. He ticks every box technically and his age and relative inexperience mean he’s only going to get better.
“He’s a long way off being the finished article but he’s got all the attributes. He’s undoubtedly one of the most exciting prospects in European football right now.”
Everton will be buoyed by Mudryk's recent admission that a Premier League move would be a dream, and it is looking increasingly likely that the Ukrainian will be in England sometime in the next 12 months. But as the financially powerful start to circle, chances of a move to Goodison Park are dwindling.
