Everton face 'January transfer battle' for striker as Serie A giants enter race

Everton could face competition from AC Milan should Frank Lampard's side decide to renew interest in Chelsea striker Armando Broja during the January transfer window.

Frank Lampard's side were heavily linked with the 21-year-old this summer as speculation surrounding Anthony Gordon continued, with talk of a potential exchange involving the Albanian forward as part of a deal to bring Everton's prized asset to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were not the only ones said to be interested in the towering forward, with West Ham United also listed as a potential destination.

But Broja remained put in the capital and is now attempting to force his way into the plans of new manager Graham Potter.

After keeping hold of Broja at the club, the Londoners rewarded the youngster with a new contract to extend his stay until 2028.

It remains to be seen as to whether or not Everton will re-enter the race to recruit the striker in January but one side who will reportedly be in the running are AC Milan.

A latest report by Calciomercato has stated the Serie A giants believe the player fits their football philosophy due to his 'technical qualities and physical structure'.

It is added Milan's pursuit of Broja is not advanced at this stage but that concrete talks cannot be ruled out in the months ahead as the prospect of a January battle grows.
