Everton will be without Yerry Mina for the weekend trip to Tottenham in a blow for Frank Lampard's side.

The defender has been sidelined since the 1-0 loss to Chelsea on the opening day of the season, but was making steady progress on his ankle injury with the hope of being involved on Saturday.

However, Lampard confirmed to reporters on Thursday that the Colombia international faces a longer wait for a first-team return after picking up a “small calf injury”.

“Yerry has had a little bit of a setback this week and so won’t be available,” Lampard said.

In more positive news for Everton, Abdoulaye Doucoure is available after missing the loss to Manchester United due to personal reasons.

Everton manager Frank Lampard hopes to have right-back Nathan Patterson back before the end of the month.

The Scotland international played every minute of the first seven Premier League matches of the season before he was sidelined by an ankle injury on international duty.

However, his recovery remains on track and he could return before the end of the month after starting rehabilitation sessions outside this week.

"Patterson, we are hoping, will be fit in two to three weeks," said Lampard.
