Joey Barton wants Everton defender on permanent deal
Bristol Rovers boss Joey Barton would like to sign Everton loanee Lewis Gibson permanently this summer, if a deal can be done.
The 22-year-old defender has been unable to play for the past month, as he recovers from an injury, but figured in all four of Rovers' opening four League One fixtures.
But the Gas gaffer Barton is already suitably impressed by Gibson to spell out his intentions, should he be able to shake off his injury issues that interrupted a loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday last season as well.

Conor Coady takes aim at 'daft' Liverpool question
Conor Coady has spoken of his frustration at being asked about his Liverpool past and the joy he felt when he netted in the recent Merseyside derby.
Everton played out a 0-0 draw against Liverpool at Goodison Park at the start of the month. Both Jordan Pickford and Alisson Becker produced a string of saves over the course of the 90 minutes to keep the scores level.
However, in the second half, Everton did think they had taken the lead when Neal Maupay's cross was tapped in at the back post by Coady. But the incident went to VAR and was then disallowed for offside, but only after the centre-back had wildy celebrated what he thought was his first goal for the Blues.
And even though the 29-year-old is a lifelong Red, and a graduate of Liverpool’s Academy system, Coady admits netting against Jurgen Klopp’s side was one of the best feelings of his career.
