Everton have officially announced Donny van de Beek has joined the club on loan from Manchester United.
Van de Beek has joined Everton on a deal until the end of the season after successfully undergoing his medical on deadline day.
Everton will cover all of the player's £120,000 per week wages. There is no option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season and the midfielder is Frank Lampard's first signing at Goodison Park.
Van de Beek has struggled for minutes at United since his £40m transfer from Ajax in September 2020. Van de Beek made just two starts in the Premier League across the entirety of 2021 and he's played 380 minutes across all competitions this season.
Van de Beek was ready to join Everton on loan in the summer but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blocked that proposed move.
The player has been frustrated at his lack of involvement at Old Trafford for some time now and his situation didn't improve following Ralf Rangnick's interim appointment. He's only started 19 out of a possible 91 United games since his transfer to the club.
Van de Beek's loan move to Everton promises more minutes on the pitch and the opportunity to reignite his career under new boss Frank Lampard, who also began life at Goodison Park on Monday.
Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund were also interested in signing Van de Beek on loan this January.
Van de Beek's contract at United expires in the summer of 2025.
