Everton have activated the option to extend Abdoulaye Doucoure's contract by a further year.
The news came courtesy of the Toffees on Tuesday evening, with the ECHO reporting on Monday that a decision had been made on the future of the midfielder.
"Everton can confirm the club has activated the option to extend Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract to the end of June 2024," read a statement on the Everton website.

"The Blues moved to add a further 12 months to the midfielder’s existing deal before the stipulated deadline."
The Mali international endured a difficult start to the season, falling out of favour under former manager Frank Lampard and slipping down the midfield pecking order. However, his fortunes have improved under incumbent boss Sean Dyche.
Doucoure has netted four goals and laid on two assists since Dyche's appointment and while his recent good run was punctured by a petulant red card against Tottenham - and a subsequenty three-game ban - he has been a positive force in the team's push to secure safety in the Premier League.
Doucoure is expected to play a vital role on Sunday, with Everton needing a win against AFC Bournemouth to guarantee their top-flight status for next season.
