Everton boss Sean Dyche sends 'rapid rate' consistency warning ahead of Leeds United clash

Sean Dyche has urged his Everton players to discover consistency at a 'rapid rate' as they prepare to welcome relegation rivals Leeds United to Goodison Park on Saturday.

Everton stunned then Premier League leaders Arsenal by defeating them 1-0 at Goodison Park on his debut, but lost 2-0 at Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Monday. Dyche believes the Arsenal game showcased just how important every three points is in the Premier League and is aiming to reduce the amount of 'off days' in his new role at Everton.

"We're trying to push for the next level, trying to push for the next performance. That'll be key to us, keep performing at a very consistent level and push for consistency," Dyche revealed in his pre-match press conference.

"Something I've been obsessed with for many years is raising the minimum. How can we raise the minimum? How can we stop really quiet days, off days and collective down days? So we're pushing that as well by finding consistency on the training ground and that's got to go into the performances and I'm well aware we've got to do that in rapid style.

"Every game in a must-win in the Premier League. The Premier League is a very unforgiving part of football and every game is important. We've just shown that - people could've written us off in the Arsenal game but we went a won.

"That's a very important three points. Every three points no matter how they come is important. My focus is on the next game regardless of who it is. We're learning about our players, we're pushing them hard, we're pushing their boundaries. Of course not enough where we stretch them too far."

Leeds travel to Merseyside boasting a slender one-point advantage over 18th place Toffees. A defeat will suck them further into the relegation mire, while a victory will end a dismal winless run of nine games in the Premier League.
