Everton are 'admirers' of Daichi Kamada and they could land him for free

Everton's pursuit of players that can improve their squad will have to resume in the summer, but they could potentially grab themselves a bargain courtesy of the Bundesliga.

That's because Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder Daichi Kamada is believed to be running down his current contract, according to fresh reports.

With 13 goals and five assists in 27 matches this season, he's certainly one of the German club's star performers, but Sport1 claims that the Japanese international is being watched by the Blues as well as Tottenham Hotspur.

Frankfurt director Markus Krosche admitted to Sky Germany recently that Kamada's future would be settled one way or the other over 'the next few weeks'.

But Sport1’s Christopher Michel says he has no intention of extending a contract beyond the end of the season. The 26-year-old has been with Frankfurt since 2017 but looks set to try a new challenge.

According to German outlet BILD, Everton, Tottenham and Bayern Munich are all interested in Kamada and his developing situation.

He can count Thierry Henry amongst his admirers. The former Arsenal and Barcelona star recently told CBS: "I like the way he thinks. I like the way he plays. Not really strong, he doesn’t jump too high and he’s not really fast. But what he does very well is that he always appears in the box.

“He can’t run past people. So what he does is he lays it off, then make sure he follows and makes it inside the box. He stays alive every single time. I really like Kamada. He’s a very good player. He will find a way to score.”

Kamada won the UEFA Europa League with Frankfurt last season, beating Rangers 5-4 on penalties after the match finished 1-1 after extra time. The 6ft midfielder scored one of the German side's spot-kicks to help them lift the trophy.
