Everton have been approached about taking part in a winter tournament in Australia.
The club has been the subject of interest over participation in the Sydney Super Cup, scheduled during the break in Premier League fixtures due to the World Cup. No commitment has been made by the Blues, who are understood to be making further inquiries before reaching a decision.
Competition organisers are seeking a team to complete the line up after the withdrawal of Rangers. Celtic, Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers are the clubs whose involvement has already been confirmed.

The Sydney Super Cup is due to take place between November 16 and November 20. The last round of Premier League games before the World Cup break will be held over the weekend of November 12/13 with domestic fixtures due to resume on Boxing Day.
Scottish rivals Rangers and Celtic were initially set to take part before Rangers withdrew in March, a club statement reading: "After it became clear the tournament organisers were unwilling to fulfil their commitments to Rangers, we have, with immediate effect, terminated the club’s agreement with the organisers."
Had Rangers and Celtic both taken part the tournament would have been the first Old Firm derby held outside Scotland. Should Everton agree to participate it would follow tours to Australia in 1964 and 2010. The club is due to depart for its summer pre-season tour of the USA next week, with games scheduled against Arsenal and Minnesota United.
